I have been searching for a good marinara sauce and this one is delicious! I found it on allrecipes.com but I added 2 tablespoons of sugar to the recipe to cut down on the acidity. It was perfect for my chicken parmesan and cappellini pasta meal.

Ingredients
- 8 (14.5 ounce) cans of stewed tomatoes
- 4 (6 ounce) cans of tomato paste
- 8 Tablespoons of chopped fresh parsley
- 4 cloves garlic
- 4 teaspoons dried oregano
- 4 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon ground pepper
- 2 Tablespoons sugar
- 1.5 cups olive oil
- 1 1/3 cups finely diced yellow onion
- 1.5 cups of white wine (Pinot Grigio)
Directions
- Place tomatoes, tomato paste, parsley, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper in a food processor; blend until smooth.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook until slightly softened, about 2 minutes.
- Stir in blended tomato sauce and white wine, add sugar.
- Simmer, stirring occasionally, until thickened, about 30 minutes.
