Pasta and Peas

Another one of Mom's delicious recipes. I should have called my page Mooch-a-Meal with Mom ... and Tracy! LOL

PASTA AND PEAS
- Olive oil 
- 1 red onion 
- 4 cloves of garlic 
- 2 cans of peas 
- Fat-free, no MSG chicken broth 
- Salt and pepper 
- 1-2 tbsp. parsley (dried or fresh) 
- 1 tbsp. basil (dried or fresh) 
- 1 lb. of small pasta shells or Barilla Pippette, Spaghetti, Angel Hair (whatever your preference) 
Directions:
- In a large Dutch oven pot cover the bottom with olive oil. Add sliced red onion and cook until soft and then add in garlic and cook for a few minutes on medium heat. 
- Next add 2 cans of peas with juice, salt and pepper, parsley, basil and chicken broth and let is simmer for about 15 minutes. 
- In a separate pot, cook pasta according to instructions on box, strain and add the pasta to the dutch oven. 
- Add additional chicken broth depending on how thick or thin you like it.
